Honey DIY Face Mask

Honey.. Honey..Hoooooney….Honeeeeeeey face mask

Wait…I think the right word was money here. Never mind, using honey as a diy face mask will prevent you from spending tons of money on artificial products.

All you need to do is make sure you apply honey on your face at least twice a week. Remember now, more on the face and less inside.

As with all DIY face mask posts, I will start off my listing the benefits of using honey –

     1.Cleanser / Moisturiser

Honey is a good cleanser for the skin by soaking up impurities. These impurities are soaked up from the pores of the skin which leave the skin feeling clear and clean. It also doubles as a moisturiser keeping your skin soft and smooth.

For those that love spending time under the sun, it also protects your skin from going dry and helps with rejuvenation process. The end result is a healthier , younger looking you

    2.Anti Septic / Anti Bacterial

When diluted in water, honey produces hydrogen peroxide which serves as an antimicrobial agent. An antimicrobial is an agent that kills microorganisms and stops their growth. Honey is useful in treating cuts, wounds and abrasions. It also displays anti bacterial properties which help in fighting acne and pimples.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey

Preparation

Of all the diy face masks that you have learnt about in the blog, the honey face mask takes the cake for being the easiest to prepare and implement. This is perfect even for those poor souls that have a difficult time following directions (moi). First up, you need to make sure your face is clean by following the 3 steps.

Next up you need to get your hands on a jar of honey taking in a teaspoon either using a spoon or just your fingertips. Rub your fingertips together and then gently apply the honey on your face.

Personally I find it easier to dot the face with honey and then to smear it all over. Leave it on the face for as long as time allows you (10 mins – 1 hour) and then wash it off using warm water. I know what you are thinking that honey will be difficult to remove given how sticky it is. I can assure you that this diy face mask will come off very easily.
