Gram Flour has been extensively not just for cooking purposes but also for its beauty and health benefits. Before we go into the details of creating this diy face mask, let’s delve deeper into what Gram Flour actually is.
Gram Flour or Besan as it is commonly known in various parts of the world (I am looking at you India) is a pulse flour that we obtain when you grind chick peas. Chick peas are also known as channa daal (looking at you India once again)
The many benefits of using gram flour include their ability to fight against pimples, reducing oiliness and acting as a body scrub.
For the purpose of a face mask, it can be used for a variety of reasons.
Before I list them, here is a look at all the ingredients you will need to create your very own homemade face mask using gram flour.
- One tablespoon Gram flour(Besan)
- One teaspoon lime juice
- One teaspoon turmeric
- One teaspoon yogurt
- One teaspoon of raw milk
- Two teaspoons of sandalwood powder
- Rose water for mixing
Now before you get all excited at the thought of mixing all of these ingredients like a mad scientist, be known that they will be used in various combinations to provide different benefits to your skin.
Let’s start off with creating a gram flour diy face mask for the purpose of removing a tan.
Removing a Tan
In a bowl, mix 4 teaspoons of gram flour, one teaspoon of yoghurt, a teaspoon of lemon and a pinch of turmeric. Mix them well using a small spoon to create a smooth paste. Apply the mixture all over your face, keeping it on for at least 15 minutes.
Once the paste has dried off, wash it off with cool water. Repeat this procedure daily to give your skin a smooth and radiant glow.
For this paste, you will need to mix 4 teaspoons of gram flour, 1 teaspoon of raw milk and a one teaspoon of lemon in a bowl. Once you have created that paste (you should be fairly good by now if you are following this blog!), apply it to your face.
Gently scrub in the mixture using circular motions. As per the last application, allow the mixture to dry off before washing it off with cool water.
Daily application of this paste will give your skin a lighter tone.
Gram Flour can also help tackle oily and greasy skin. Create a paste using one teaspoon of gram flour with a teaspoon of either yoghurt or raw milk.
Prepare this mixture in a bowl and apply the paste to your face leaving it on for at least 20 minutes.
Not only will the daily application of this help fight oily skin but it will also remove dirt and make up residues from your face.
Stop spending tons and tons of money on anti-pimple creams. Instead use a homemade face mask courtesy of gram flour to fight the pimples.
For this face mask, mix two teaspoons of gram flour, 2 tea spoons of sandalwood powder with a teaspoon of milk and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Mix all of these ingredients into a nice paste in a bowl and then apply to the face. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes which will give the mixture enough time to dry off and then wash it off with cool water.
