Time to add a little bit of OJ into this egg white face mask
Our skin takes a fair amount of beating on a daily basis. This could be due to the pollution around us, overexposure to the sun or even a medical condition. The list does not end there unfortunately and stress, poor lifestyle choices and even the use of those super expensive chemical based cosmetic products can wreak havoc on the skin.
As a result the skin loses its shine and becomes dull , dark and dry. Now you can always run to the nearest store to get the so called perfect cream but that will always cost more money than creating a homemade face mask that helps with skin lightening.
The diy face mask today is made using egg whites, turmeric powder and good old OJ. I have listed the benefits of the egg white before so wont bother repeating them here. Turmeric helps to reduce dark spots caused by acne and evens out discolorations in the skin whereas orange juice simply tones the skin.
Combine these two ingredients with the egg white and you have a great homemade skin lightening face mask at your disposal.
If you have been following this blog then you will surely know that the first step to any egg white face mask is to separate the egg white. Use the cracked shell for this delicate procedure. Add the egg white and orange juice in a bowl and start whisking till it becomes frothy.
As always you can use a blender but seriously this can easily be done with the use of a whisk so I would stick to that approach.
Next up, add the turmeric and mix thoroughly. Now turmeric has a habit of staining everything it touches so best to wear an apron or one of those discarded One Direction t shirts when making this homemade egg white face mask.
Once you have the mixture ready, apply it to your face and massage in a circular motion. This is being done to ensure the face mask sinks deep into your skin.
One thing you need to consider when applying the mask is that it can get dry very quickly so you need to refrain from talking or smiling. Just relax and lie down for a bit and let the face mask do all the hard work.
Keep the egg white face mask on for 15 minutes and then scrub it off. I follow this up with a moisturizer preferably a few drops of olive oil given how dry this face mask can get.
