Cucumber face mask with Lime
A cucumber face mask combined with the right ingredients will help if you are having issues with oily skin and is also best used for skin lightening purposes.
For those that are unaware of this magical vegetable, cucumbers belong to the same plant family as squash, watermelon and pumpkin aka as the Cucurbitaceae family. Similar to watermelons, cucumbers are made up of mostly water (95 percent). They are perfect for those hot summer days to keep you hydrated.
Before we move onto the cucumber face mask, let’s talk about the numerous benefits to be had from eating this vegetable.
Cucumbers help to control your stress levels, freshen your breath, support your digestive health, maintain weight and most importantly help to fight off that ugly disease called Cancer.
Now onto the ingredients required for this simple homemade lime juice and cucumber face mask.
- One tablespoon cucumber juice
- One teaspoon lime juice
- One teaspoon turmeric
- One teaspoon glycerine (for dry skin)
First off, you are required to mash up the cucumber to get the juice. The easier way would be to simply mash it using a pastel and mortar or a wine bottle (make sure that bottle is empty!) If you want the absolute best result, then the blender is king.
Place the juice in the empty bowl and add the other ingredients.
Once the ingredients have been mixed thoroughly apply the mixture on the face and around the eyes using cotton balls. Leave the paste on for at least 15 minutes.
Wash out the paste with cold water and apply the cucumber face mask on a daily basis for the best results.
This works best if you have oily skin. For those that have dry skin, you only need to add a teaspoon of glycerine into the cucumber face mask paste for the best results.
